EGS Congress 2020 Cancellation FAQs 

Q. How do I get my Certificate of Attendance?

A: In order to get Your «Certificate of Attendance», You will have to enter the virtual platform, using your personal Access Code to login, click on the Certificate of Attendance button in the Lobby, fill in the Survey first, at the end You will find your certificate of attendance uploaded in this platform in your personal area.

Please note that The Survey is available until 15 March 2021.

Q. How do I get the EGS Guidelines?

A: In order to get Your downloadable copy of the EGS Guidelines You will have to enter the virtual platform, using your personal Access Code to login, click on the Certificate of Attendance button in the Lobby, fill in the Survey first. Once you have completed the Survey we will send the EGS Guidelines to Your email address after 16 March 2021.

Please note that The Survey is available until 15 March 2021.

Q. I had registered for the face-to-face and now the format has changed to virtual, will I receive a refund?  

A. All the Face-to-face fees will be refunded for the difference with the virtual fee.

Q. I did not cancel my registration since I was committed to participating face-to-face on 13-15 December, now I do not wish to participate in the new virtual event on 12-13 December, will I receive a refund?

A. As a consequence of the changed format of the EGS Congress, caused by the second wave of the COVID-19, in case a delegate already registered face-to-face will not be able to virtually attend the congress on the new dates, the paid registration will be refunded (deducted € 30,00 for administrative expenses) if required within 14 November 2020.
From 15 November cancellations will be subject to the cancellation policy indicated on our website

Q. What will happen to my hotel reservation? 

A. As a consequence of the postponement of the EGS congress caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV- 2, hotel reservations booked through the conference organizer OIC, or through the meeting on-line registration platform, will be automatically re-booked for the new dates. 
If you are unable to attend the re-arranged EGS congress, in order to cancel your reservation made through OIC, please contact registrationegs@oic.it, not later than 30 June 2020, to obtain a refund (€ 25,00 will be deducted to cover administrative expenses). 
After this deadline, hotel cancellations will be subject to the cancellation policy indicated on our website 
Important:  If you booked your hotel outside of the registration system or added extra hotel nights, it is your responsibility to cancel the booking. 

Q. Will EGS reimburse my airfare? 

A. EGS policy states that airline tickets are purchased at the expense of the individual, therefore tickets will not be refunded by EGS/OIC.
The EGS recommends that you contact the airline directly to learn more about cancellation and refund policies.
We understand that many airlines are providing flexible refund options due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Q. My abstract was accepted at EGS 2020. Will my abstract be transferred to EGS postponed dates?

A. If you submitted an abstract for EGS 2020 and this was accepted, please note that only e.poster will be presented.
You will be notified about the guidelines to prepare and upload it, according to the new virtual format.

Q: I am a registered participant, when will I receive my personal Access Code to the virtual platform of the event?

A: All registered participants will receive their persona Access Code on 10 December by e-mail.

The virtual platform will be accessible from 11 December.
